The Senate just finished voting on their version of the jobs bill with a final vote of 70-28.  It includes highway fund, bonds, and small business tax incentives. The Senate’s legislation will now be conferenced with the House bill and return to both chambers for a final vote.

There is often talk about a bill that still faces a tough conference,  scurrilous amendments added during conference, and even more recently avoidance of a conference all together. On Capitol Hill it is just assumed that everyone understands this term and, even more assuming, that everyone understands the process.
