The Market Institute joined a coalition of free market leaders in sending a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) strongly supporting his opposition to attaching the No Surprises Act to a year-end deal, and urging him to remain opposed.

The Market Institute President Charles Sauer’s statement about the proposal:

“Congress is trying to rush their work in before a holiday break while forgoing due diligence and speaking with stakeholders. If allowed to go forward, this legislation will fundamentally change the economic landscape an almost $4 trillion market. Congressional Leadership should not allow this bill to be tacked onto must pass legislation at the 11th hour.”
